About Van Dyke Parks:
Most often cited for his collaboration with Brian Wilson in the now legendary yet unreleased Beach Boys album, “Smile”, Van Dyke Parks’ life has taken many interesting twists and turns. He began his career as a child actor in film and television, later found that he had a penchant for music and worked with such notable acts as Frank Zappa, The Byrds, Rufus Wainwright, Phil Ochs, U2 and even Danger Mouse. If Zappa and Brian Wilson weren’t intriguing enough, Van went on to score a bevy of children’s’ television programs, including Sesame Street, Pee Wee’s Playhouse and many others. Then of course there is Van’s solo career.
